Le mot "djent", qui serait né dans la bouche de MONSIEUR Fredrik Thordendal, peut être défini comme suit :

"Djent is a genre derived from math/progressive metal, and is characterised by a strong emphasis on groove and syncopation, extensive polymeter usage, and down-tuned guitars - often with 7 or even 8 strings. The term "djent", is an onomatopoetic word, which mimics the sound that comes from a heavily palm muted distorted guitar chord, usually played as but not limited to a 4 string double octave powerchord, and as a result sounds much more metallic and sonically present."
